- The local forge.
In this district long ago, there were two forges, which were owned by the Corcorans. The corcorans were smiths for four generations. The forge was situated on the roadside and it was built with stone and the roof was thatched. The door was shaped like a cart-house door.
The bellows was made of leather on a wooden frame. A long wooden handle was fixed to the top of the bellows and a weight was tied to the bottom to help to blow the bellows. Coal was not used in forges but, black turf was used instead. The smith(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
