  1. There is a Mass rock near Ballnasaggart where the priest used to say Mass in the penal days, it is called the Mass rock. There is another rock called Seán-seadh (sidhe) Méar. On the stone there are marks of his ribs or fingers. There is a field called páirc a leachta by the edge of Lough Funshinagh. There is a place over the red hill called Clochán-Ruadh. There is a place at the end of the lough called the gulfs, long ago it was stopped with hay and bullocks blood. There is a bush near Lough Funshinagh known as book's bish.
    The names of the fields in Carrowkeel and Highbog are goirtín árd, goirtín gleann, goirtín tobar, páircín a súaimer, gort na muc, forth field, Jim's garden, quarry field, green field, lios mór, Currach a Leargán. In Jim's garden are the ruins of an old house.
