  1. The Leipreachan
The Leipreachan is known locally as a fairy and a wee little man. He is supposed to be very small, about the size of a blade of grass. He is supposed to wear a red cap and cloak with a breeches to his knees and the shoes with the toes turned up. He is supposed to live in a lonely place, in the shelter of a hedge or a ditch, in a tuft of a grass and under a wild fern. His occupation is supposed to be making and repairing shoes and at the same time watching his crock of gold.
It is very difficult to get his gold. Some people when trying to catch him, he tricks them and disappears. Others when they had the gold, put it into a bag with a hole in it and lost it going home and it was turned into buttercups.
