Straw-boys visit the wedding house very often. They dress in old clothes, their faces masked and a tall pointed hat on the head made of straw. They get food and drink and sometimes they go in and dance having their own musical instrument.
People like to see the straw-boys coming, sometimes they are very presentable and make good fun.
The parties come and go to the Church in motor cars. Seldom if ever is a horse-drawn cart seen. But I think the "old side-car" was far nicer, the long procession and the mad galloping of men on horse-back. People boasted and remembered for years these events and even old people still speak with pride of them, the best horse the best jockey and the best turn-out. Between the bride's side and the man's side there was always great(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
