1. Cloyne's Round Tower and Caves (ar lean)

   Later, repairs left the tower some feet shorter and of a different shaped top to the original. Within a short distance of the tower are the "Caves of Cloyne" about which many wild hair-raising stories are told. Some of these caves are very far-reaching and tradition says that St Colman and his fellow-workers dwelt at times within them. Some have never been fully explored and their length is unknown.
   Among the many weird tales told about the caves is the following. Years ago a
