The Story of the Old Cow
The hay and corn stores were just exhausted, grass had not yet started to grow and March was not yet half ways through, and the old cow had all she could do to survive. However she saw the last days of March and she cocked her head, and shook her tail as much as to say "I am safe now". But March borrowed three days from April and the wind blew. No blade of grass dared put up its head and the old cow died with hunger.
