    and many people from Dunmanus took them. One of the men who rescued the sailors got as much oil as did him for ten years. Jerry Donovan from Gunpoint went around to Dunmanus in his boat and brought oil, cases of oranges and wine and a lot of timber home with him. Dick King from Ardravinna went to Dunmanus in a horse and cart and brought a cart of timber and a case of oranges. It is said that he also brought a case of wine, but with all the rough handling some part of the case got broken and when he came home it was empty. The oil which was got in the ship was very fine firing and was also very good to rub to a wound.
