There is a protestant graveyard in the Altar townland called "Teampuill na mbocht." It got its name because all the dead people that were found dead around the place during the famine were buried there. The first person that was buried there was a man that was found dead on the side of the road, and the grave is still to be seen faced the wrong way.
One night a man from Dunmanus who is dead now was coming from Schull. He was drunk and he was singing very loudly. When he was near the graveyard a man dressed in black caught him from the back. He did(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
