The sun was declining, the day was far spent.
When the three [?]Forbes's, on an errand they went.
Their tractor was stored by Ted Brien of Glendart.
They said they should get it, before they'd depart.

They entered the shed, as the day had just died.
And the tractor on to the finisher they tied.
The finisher next they pulled out of its moorage.
"Come now" says Ted Brien "you must pay me for storage".

"I wont" say Tom Forbes as his voice grew dim.
"Yes! Yes" says Ted Brien it is seven pounds ten".
A battle most fearful was fought on that night.
Their venomous tongues being the weapons in fight.
The spectators present expected some slaughter.
Their names to make mention were Bill's wife and daughter.

Their thoughts were confounded at a quarter past eight.
When Forbes'es car carried in through the gate.
[?] son in a frenzy of terror.
Ran for the guards for to settle the error.

Guard Molvihill arrived, and I heard him remark.
"Tis my first act of duty in famous Glendart"
"Ted Brien" says the guard "leave Tom Forbes alone".
For the tractor is his, and he must take it home."
