    When his order was executed, the hunters drank of the pleasant liquor until they could neither stand, nor sit, nor talk, and it is said that even the fish in the river were drunk also.
    Early next morning an old sow who happened to meander along by the river's bank, was so overcome by the odour which still remained that she had to be taken home by her owner in a very helpless condition.
    Thus, this little insignificant pool derives it's imposing name - Tadg's Punch-bowl".
    Tadg's Punch-bowl is in the barony of the EAST DIVISION OF WEST CARBERY, in the parish of DUNMANWAY in CO. CORK.
