(ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)the grain. They started to plough at the furrow and turned a sod from each ridge towards it. Thus the furrow of the potato ridge was the centre of the wheat ridge. The idea of the wheat ridges was to make it convenient for the sickle workers.
The ploughs used were of timber and were made by the local carpenter and the local smith put the sock on them. The sock was made of iron.
