Co. Cork.Story of 1839 Storm.
In the year of 1839 there lived a man named Hidock. He endured many storms in his day and he often had to go out in a snowstorm.
He sometimes had to ride hundreds of miles in the course of his journey in rain and snow and often almost perished on his journey.
He was once caught in a snowstorm in the black hills and had to stay there for several weeks on account of the terrible depth of snow in these mountains. He had a fight with a robber who shot him- Bailitheoir
