They would then come and have their breakfast of potatoes and skim milk. Sometimes the Master and Mistress of the family would have tea after their breakfast of potatoes.
At one o'clock they would have their usual meal on dinner of potatoes, cabbage and pork. They about nine o' clock they would have their supper of potatoes and skim milk again.
They used eat around the table in the centre of the house when eating every meal. When the potatoes ran short the people used Indian meal bread. The bread used be generally made by the women.
The people used not eat meat very often then, the big people or well to do farmers used eat it often but other people would think it good if they had it at Christmas.
