- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)said he did. The Canon asked who he was but the man replied that he could not 'make out' his face. The Canon then drew his stole from his pocket and put it over his shoulders. Immediately that he did so the man recognised his old neighbour who had died some time previously. When the Canon said Now do you know him he replied that he did. The man spoke to the shadow and asked him what was troubling him to which he replied that he wanted the one-and-sixpence returned to the servant girl The neighbour did so and the shadow was never again seen.

In 1847 Daniel Cronin Coltsman built a mill and a store house on the brink of Átha na Luinge Báine - at present known as the Courthouse. About ten years later it fell into disuse and the mill was rased. Timothy Long's grandfather was the first to mount the old mill to level it. During the process the workmen heard a voice saying slowly and distinctly "Come down and dont break" - the voice seemed to come from the old wall.- Bailitheoir
