- On St Brigid's eve the young men and boys of this district go out and dress themselves in old torn clothes and rub coal-dust to their faces. They carry a mouth organ and a tin-can with them and one of them carries the Brideóg.
They go into every house in the district and dance and sing and the people of the houses would give them money.On St. Patrick's day the people of Ireland wear shamrock on their coats in honour of St Patrick who was the patron Saint of our land
