  2. Cregg is about three miles from Ballyhooly between the latter place and Fermoy.
There is a Castle built on a high rock and from that rock the townland gets its name.
There are ruins of a monastery in a field but nobody knows when it was built or where the monks went.
There is only a piece of the walls now left.
    Near Cregg is Templenoe.
There was a Church there and also a small village.
There is no sign of the Church and nobody knows where it was.
There was a public house there which was closed because a soldier was killed there about 80 years ago
    Near Templenoe is Ballynoe.
There were many farmers living there but they all left in the Famine years.
Long ago a bull was heard bellowing by people passing through in the middle of the night although nobody in the townland posessed a bill
