- Long ago there was a woman who had no milk for her family and a fairy came to her and told her that she would send her a cow. The cow came into the woman's yard morning and evening, and whatever vessel the woman would put under her she would fill it with milk. Another woman who was jealous of her said she would get a vessel that the "Glas Gaibhneach" would not fill. So she got a strainer and the cow disappeared and came back no more.
- The most famous tradesman in olden times was the Gobán Saor. One time a lord sent a messenger to the Gobán to ask him to build a castle for him that any other castle on the earth would not equal. The work was commenced at once and when the castle would be completed the Gobán was to get a very big reward.(continues on next page)
