  2. Halloween Customs

    Hallow E'en or "snap-apple" night occurs on 31st October. It is a great night of sport and fun for the young people.
    I prefer Christmas Day to any day of the year and next to that "Snap-apple" night. Before hand the woman of the house bakes a sweet cake or sometimes buys one. In this cake she puts a ring, a piece of rag, a bit of stick and a coin. It is believed that whoever gets the ring will be the first to be married and whoever is unlucky enough to get the piece of rag, poverty is her share.
