    1. During the Black & Tan regime Colman's thatched house in Bridesbridge was burnt as a reprisal. It was replaced by a large slated house
    The old post office in C. lyons was burnt - it was re-built and is now occupied by a family by the name of ODonnell.
    2. THE CASTLE of Castlelyons was burnt out about one hundred & 50 years ago and never rebuilt. The burning was said to be the work of a tinker by the name of Andy Hickey The place was smouldering for 3 mts.
    Plagues & Epidemics
    (1) The Black Flu 1918. Several people died of it in this locality.
