    All wake games have died out in this parish but the old people remember singing and playing of cards at a wake. The rule was to sing at wakes and cry when children were born.
    59. "Keening at funerals etc.
    John Grey, ex-postman, remembers seeing a funeral of old Mr Coppinger of Rossmore.
    He says, six women, the tallest that could be found were employed to "Keen" at the funeral.
    They walked three at each side of the coffin from Rossmore to Templecurraheen graveyard a distance of about three miles "keening" all the way.
