- All farmers used to make baskets. They used to point big and small sticks and stick them in the ground in a circle. Then they used to twist others in and out of them. When the sides were built, they used to bend the long sticks from one side to the other to make the bottom. Then they used to twist others in and out of them. They used to tie a rope on to each corner.
They used to fill it with vegetables and carry it on their backs. Barrels and churns were made by Coopers. Nails were made in Codys in Carrigaline.
Whips and harnesses were made in Beasleys Carrigaline.
The fishermen used to catch a billydiver and they used to tie a ring around it neck. Then they used to leave the billydiver dive and when the billydiver used to catch fish the fisher men used to pull the string that was tied to the ring and nearly choke the billydiver.
The billydiver used to float then. Then the fishermen used to pull the billydiver into the shore and take the fish.- Bailitheoir
