- There is a fort in this locality. It is called a rath. It is in the townland of Monard. It is in view of another fort also in Riordans land. They are round in shape. It surrounded by trees and there is a pathway leading up to it at the side. There is an underground passage in it by which it is connected to another fort in Buola. Nobody has ever explored the interior of the fort. If a person went into the fort in the day time the would find it very dreary. Lights were seen there and music was seen there often.
The Danes were supposed to have build the fort to protect themselves and also for hiding places.
Rabbits were the only animals seen in the fort and they(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
