  1. The townland in which I live is called Killingly. This name means the church of Finola or (Cíll Fhinn Ghuaille) of the Fair Shoulder.
    This townland is a rich agricultural country consisting chiefly of limestone land. There are several disused lime-kilns in the surrounding district.
    There are also the ruins of two old flour mills which were once very prosperous in the neighbourhood. In Killingley graveyard stand the ruins close beside the Rectory, of an old church, within which, is the grave of Fr. Florence MacCarthy. Pilgrims from far and near came to pay "rounds" at this grave and at a holy
