- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)Piper's cross, where they once danced to the music of the pipes on Summer evenings, is in the townland of Kilmoney.
On the Ballea Road about one mile west of Carrigaline, stands Ballea Castle, with its old time gardens and court yard, over looking the river Owenabuidhe.
This Casle was once the strong-hold of the Mac Carthy Moors of Cork. It was built by the Mac Carthy of Cloghroe who was a member of the Confederation of Kilkenny for Bandon.
Underneath the Castle on a rock a white horse is painted in memory of a lady, who was killed by falling off a horse while hunting.
About a half mile from this is a wooden cross erected to the memory of a man who was killed when felling trees.
