The swallow builds of mud under the eaves of houses, and it is very noticeable in the village, that regularly each year, in May or June, the nests appear under the roof of No 3 School House in the centre of the village.
Nests are all similarly constructed of some what the same materials - mud, hair, twigs, dried leaves, grass, moss, and feathers.
The Pigeon's eggs are of a white colour and fairly large, the robins are blue with little brown spots, the crows are of a large size, of a blue colour with brown spots, the blackbird lays greenish blue coloured eggs like a thrush, the wren has a very small egg of a brown colour. The cuckoo's eggs are also brown resembling a turkeys egg in colour.
The wren lays between twelve and fifteen eggs, the pigeon two, the cuckoo one, the robin(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
