- There was a large forge at Lisacrue at the entrance to Ballyhonock lough. The owner of this forge was both a blacksmith and a farrier. He was also a noted hand for repairing reapers. He commanded the trade of the great districts from Ballycotton to Knockadoon. He was noted for lining axles. He rated as a tasty general man. The back walls of the ivy, covered dwelling house are still to be seen. A part of the forge is to be seen still, and outside the step of the door is a mighty stone which he used for banding wheels.
