  1. There is one night of summer nights to which all people look forward, and that is called "Bonfire Night" On that night a crown comes together on top of a hill, or on some high ground, and they light a fire.
A few bones and a bundle of weeds, called "magoord" are put into the life. Before these are put in the fire they are sprinkled with holy water. For weeks beforehand boys are gathering whins for the fire.
When it is lighted all young people jump over it three times in order to be healthy for the year. All young children are lifted over the fire. On that that fires can be seen blazing on the horizon in honour of St. John.
Every farmer has a small furnace at an entrance to a field. All the cows and cattle are driven over it. They will be healthy for the rest of the year. All night the young are dancing and singing and playing music.
