   used to dance inside in a level place, and then the priests took it into hand, and put a stop to it entirely.

   As Jack Breslin's was a great dancing place too, they used to dance jigs, reels, hornpipes and doubles. There used to be a power of single step dancing, and there used to be opposition too. A fellow from Monemohill, he thought he was a better dancer nor Tim Downey, and he give Tim a sort of a challenge, and they danced against one another for three Sundays, and 'twas all (?) and 'twas given to Jim Downey. The old blind piper used to shout:
   "Leave my light 'till I look at Tim Downey dancing"
   He used to know his feet on the floor. What was more curious was Tim doing a step, and making Dickey play the fiddle according to his steps, 'till he made him put in every tip in the fiddle that he used to put in with his feet.
