Beans are roasted representing two lovers. They are then put into a glass of water, whichever sinks will prove unfaithful. If they both remain afloat they will marry.3. Old Bachelors pull their shirts against the current of a river or stream in the name of the devil, and then place it on the back of a chair before the fire. If a woman comes to change the shirt, she will be his future wife.4. There is a superstition that if a girl picked up a snail on November eve and placed it between two plates, it would trace out the name of her future husband by the following day.
