    of Ireland would be spending his money and he heard the voice three mornings in succession. When he came home on the third night the tide had his stool and money carried off.
    He set out the next morning, and travelled along until he found the smith. He went in and the woman of the house gave him his dinner. She made a cake of bread for him and put three sovereigns into it, but she told him that the smith had the money spent. He set off for home and on his way sold the cake for threepence not knowing that he sold the three sovereigns for less that their value.
