- Hidden Treasure.It is supposed that there is gold hdden in the Abbey of Cluain Ealta. Attempts have been made to get it, but without success. One time a man from the locality dreamt of it in America and came home to dig for it. he went to the monastery and began to dig for it, but before long he was attacked by a bull. he ran from the place and never came back again. One day some people were at a funeral saw an inscription which they could not understand on a stone. A poor scholar who was there read it and was able to translate it and this is what it said. "The inside of this stone is better than the outside". A man who was listening came that night and searched for his treasure and it is said that he found it and in the hole where it was buried a well sprung up and it had to(continues on next page)
