  1. Tobar an Domnaig.
    In the townland of Ballinvira, Croagh, in the lands of Ml. Hanley, there is a holy well called tobar an Domnaig. This was a famous well for the cure of sore eyes. 'Rounds' were paid there on the first Sunday in July and the present occupier, Ml. Hanley often hears his father say that it was no unusual sight to see a couple of hundred cars around the place on that particular evening.
    A girl whose maiden name was Kett, a native of the district, who is now married in Co. Clare, came to this well many years ago. She had been suffering from a sore eye for a long time. She did the rounds, said the roasry three times and bathed her eye in the well. She left a token near the well and then went home. Her eye was completely cured.
    A big white thorn bush grows beside the well which is situated in a most secluded spot beside a wood.
    A man named con Normile has revived the custom of saying the
    (leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
