    The well is frequented for both spiritual and temporal needs. The water is considered a cure for both blindness and lameness and also for ailments of cattle.
    The water is applied to the affected part. It is also drunk and carried away. Offerings of ribbons are made on completion of the rounds. The ribbons are tied on the whitethorn bush near the well.
    It is considered profane to use the water for household purposes.
    A trout is said to inhabit the well permanently. Any person who sees the trout is sure to have
