- The people still point out where the houses stood at that time. At that time there were 47 houses in the district of Baurnagurrahy small and all as it is. The Boro' Road which leads to Gerah from Anglesboro was very thickly populated at that time and the remains of some of the houses may still be seen there.
The potatoes were a marvellous crop in 1845. They were so big and so good that the people took very little care of them. They made heaps of them by the ditches (i.e. fences)and just threw a handful of grass on them. The frost must have touched them that winter.
