Off went the lads and brought back two fine gabháils. He sent them back or more. He then caught up the hay and opening the pig house door he said "Now boys you'll see the finest boxing match ever you saw" as he threw the hay under the pigs.
Another day the P.P. drove into the yard and said "Hi Maurice will you throw up a few shoes for me". "Maybe we'd nail them up" said Maurice.
Another day he told a fellow to hand him up a piece of iron that lay on the floor. Of course the iron was hot but looked like a black dirty piece that had been there for years.
When the fellow caught it up it stuck to his fingers and he jumped around the forge cursing smiths and forges.
The following day he asked the same man to sledge for him. The man missed his stroke and struck himself on the shin. There he was jumping around the forge again on one leg.
