- 29. "Petty-coat Loose".Once upon a time there was a part of the road in the county Tipperary, which was haunted by a Ghost, called Petty Coat Loose. One night as a man was coming home town in a horse-cart she met him and asked him for a drive. He stopped the horse and she got up on the cart, but the horse would not go.
The man coaxed him, but he would not go. "Do not beat your horse, Sir, but go home and do not be out so late anymore" said the ghost. The man went home and put up his horse. Next morning, when the man went out to the stable, the horse was dead.Told to John CleereBy Edmond Cleere
