  1. A long time ago when poor scholars were travelling the roads of Ireland one poor scholar came a long distance to Cahirguillomore near Bruff to get a hidden treasure of which he dreamt. When he reached the place he went into a house and asked for lodging and they gave it to him and then he told them that he came to seek a hidden treasure and he told them that it was on the north side of their house in a place where grass never grew. Then they put him to bed, when he was asleep they went to the place where he mentioned and dug and got a barrel of gold
