and a hearty reception we gave Mr. Green

Concerning his voyage across the high seas

He went down to the hub to purchase some clothes
A swallow tail coat that went down to his toes
And a pair of tan shoes near as red ashes nose
Of some light Sunday stockings he purchased a pair
A collar and tie and some light under wear
When he had paid for them all he had ten cents to spare.
