The dead were just coffined, loaded on a cart, and brought like a load of timber up to the grave-yard. They were buried by strange hands unknown and uncared for. They say there are several unmarked and unknown graves in Towerhill grave-yard since famine days. The other graveyard in district or near Dromkeen in the lands of Mr. London, was so filled at the time, that it had to be closed for good. There is no sign of a grave yard there now, except a few mounds and some stones. It would appear that the ancient way of making a mark for a grave was with a little heap of stones.
