Three Blakes' from Morenane - the eastern foot of the hill of Cnoc-Fírinne - were apprehended for the crime. They were brought to Tullovin, which is midway between Morenane and the Burnt Cross, and the gallows was to be erected on the hill, but the limestone rock was too near the surface to allow of a firm fixture. The scene of the execution was then transferred to a spot within 20 perches of Tullovin Castle and there they were hanged.
Old Norry Fitzgerald of the hill - Tullovin - witnessed the hanging.
Old Norry is dead over 40 years. She was 105 or 106 years of age when she died.
