- Cures were handed down traditionally. Our grandfathers and grandmothers knew cures for all ailments.
Here are a few of them.
Dock-leaf - is supposed to be a cure for a sting of a nettle or a sting of a wasp.
Slánlúg{?} - when chews in the mouth and applied to a cut stops it bleeding.
Dendelion - used as a salad - to purify the Blood.
Yarrow - boiled in new milk used as a cure for Rheumatism.
Marsh Mallow - used for swelling or sprains.
Nettles - used 3 times during March to prevent illness.
Sloes - used for dyeing
Alder-berries - also used for dyeing.
Nettles - used as a cure Murrian in cattle.
