- About two hundred years ago there lived in North Tipperary a famous rapparee known as William Brennan. This rapparee robbed the nobles and lords and rich men he met with, but he never robbed a poor person.
This robber mostly robbed by night and rested by day. It is said that he was resting with his horse in Drominagh near Lough Derg and he had a bag of gold with him.
One of the members of the Biggs family came upon him and stole the bag of gold. It is said that with this money a bridge was built over the Ballyfinboy river at Drominagh. A stone slab is still to be seen in this bridge which still(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Bailitheoir
