  1. My Home District (ar lean)

The name of the townland in which I live is Nenagh.

    (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)
large houses in the town and shops, but there are a number of old thatched houses which were condemned. There were a hundred and eleven houses built instead of them on the north side of the town.
The houses are not very numerous now, but long ago, they were made of mortar and also mud and on that account they were very plentiful.
The name "Nenagh" is derived from two words "An Aonach" meaning the fair, which was held outside Nenagh every three years long ago.
Tras-scríofa ag duine dár meitheal tras-scríbhneoirí deonacha.
