An island stands in the middle of the marsh but cannot be approached owing to dangerous swaying of the [sgrath?] underfoot: this [sgrath?] it is said forms the surface of submerged lake which is connected by an underground channel with O'Brien's Glen N.W of "Lochlalanne". At a point about mid way between end of marsh and beginning of O'Brien's Glen a horse belonging to O'Brien, broke the surface sod and sank into the ground and had to be roped up. This occurred in the spring of 1937.(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)- Faisnéiseoir
