- There was a priest in Nenagh one time and he used to be making fun of a boy that/who he knew. The boy got a job in a newspaper office. Some time afterwards the priest came into the office for a paper. When he saw the little boy he went over to him and said "Have you to-morrow's paper please, and the boy said, "I am sorry I sold it yesterday."

- There did once an old man live in OBriens Bridge. His name was James Kelly. He kept a public house.
One Sunday a knock came to the door. There was some men drinking in the house who werent travellers. They all went into the room and flung him into bed and had him making his will when the police came in. One of his sons stood over him and said "Upon my oath if you dont leave me the place your old will is no good." The police went away they thought he was dying.
