- When a fair is held in the town, the farmer brings in his beast. Buyers come from all parts of Ireland to buy cattle. The sale commences about seven o'clock in the morning. The buyer comes along and asks the farmer how much he wants for the beasts. The farmer says so much then another man comes along and advises them to divide what's left between them. The farmer says "I won't break this mans word" so this man gets both hands and claps them together and the bargain is made. Then the buyer pays at the bank and the farmer gives him so much luck money and then they are satisfied.Written by:
