- Some of these travelling people made their own articles others of them bought them in Limerick and other towns. The people of the district used to put up beds for them in barns, and if the weather was very cold they would let them into the kitchen. The people used to give them their meals while they would stay. The Mc.Carthys and the Tuohys were the best known of them. They generally came before Christmas. All of them used to bring stories and news from other districts. The people of the district used to go to the houses where the travelling people(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
