Ar an leathanach seo
- (ar lean ón leathanach roimhe)to some engineers the site of Athloman Church. It was marked on a map which they had with them.
A Dr Russel lived up to 30 years ago in Athloman Mansion which he built. The road by this house was made about the time of the Famine or shortly after. Till then the people of Piercetown went to Thurles via Coalfields Boreen crossing the Drish by a ford. This road is still known as the New Line.
There is a well near Careys house - possibly a holy well attached to Athloman Church.
Athloman Mansion is locally believed to be haunted. The present occupier is Mr Thomas Cuseen. Several apartments are closed up and there are stories told of a woman in white seen in the vicinity.
