- A stitch in time saves nine. It is never too late to mend. You would never miss the water until the well runs dry. A burnt child dreads the fire. The proverb says that in the end the best of friends must part. Listen to the old person whom you think has knowledge. If you don't sow in Spring you won't reap in Autumn. It is difficult to get wool from a goat.
- Proverbs are old sayings such as "A stitch in time saves nine", "Better to wear out shoes than sheets". "A place for every thing and every thing in its proper place" Another proverb is "One year's seeding is nine years weeding". That means if weeds are let grow till they have shed their seeds, you will have very long and great labour in clearing the land afterwards.(continues on next page)
