Ar an leathanach seo

  1. About two miles from here there is an old ruin called Kilcash Castle. It was owned by the Catholic branch of the Butler family. The Butlers were a Norman family. Their great Ancestor was a Theobald Butler who came from France to Ireland in the days of Henry II. The castle was built in the Norman style. This castle is situated in a beautiful position, overlooking the whole Northern Deise. As far back as the fourteenth century there were laws made in Kilcash Castle, which affected all Ireland. They were called the "Statutes of Kilcash". It is said that Westminster Abbey and the English Houses of Parliament were roofed with Kilcash oak. From Kilcash Castle can be seen the whole valley of the Suir.
    In the old song mention is made of Lady Iveagh. Her name was Burke. She married
